A Day at the Zoo

Colby's Preschool class had a field trip to the Zoo, Did you know we have a zoo? Well we do, It is a pretty sad little zoo but hey, they're preschoolers and what do they care right? They spent 5 minutes following a roley poley around before we had to move on!! That's right, we even have roley poley's at our zoo! The zoo keeper did come out and talk to us and let us watch her feed the otters. She then brought out one of the baby wallabies. He was so cute and all the kids got to pet him in his little homemade pouch! All in all (aside for the gale force winds) it was a GREAT day at the zoo!

Colby's favorite part was the peacocks, They just wander around the whole zoo, They are certianly beautiful birds.

Nelson

We took the kids to Nelson, Nevada this Saturday to hopefully accomplish my pbhotograqphy assingment for this week. Well I think I got maybe one out of 9 pictures needed to turn in this Thursday. Part of the problem was Brett decided to have a little incedent with a cactus minutes before this picture was taken. Not a happy camper. He freaked when he felt it hit his leg and starting smacking it with his hands thinking it was a bug that stung him. Needles in both hand and both legs. It was pretty bad, he didn't cheer up until we got candy bars for the ride home!!

Stronger Woman

Photobucket

I keep hearing this song in my head every time I see this amazing woman show how she is reclaiming her life. My mom and I went up to visit last Thursday and we brought her back with us so we could surprise her with he house put back together. Patti, Sheri and their girls worked crazy hard to make Gram's house a home again. We had a really fun day exploring all the fun things that they did to the house.

Patti and Lisa did these painted quotes on the wall that they found in Grammy and Gramp's journals. I didn't get a picture of Gram's quote but I will. This wall will be filled with pictures when it's done. Gram was overtaken with emotion when she saw the house. We had luch and them came back to the house, Patti turned on one of Gramp's old records. I cried when I saw a happy woman dancing around the kitchen. I have memories of her and Gramps dancing in front of the big windows at The Reef to that music. I asked her who she was dancing with she smiled and said "Hal." She hasn't danced in so many years and it is so amazing to see her return to us.

I couldn't find Bonnie but when I looked out the kitchen window this is what I saw. The Bonnie's having a wonderful time!

A Dream Come True

Any one who knows my Sam knows that she is a horse fanatic. She started her obsession about the age of 18 months. She has always loved horses. For her birthday she asked Grandie if she could have a special day with her for her birthday. Of corse Grandie said that would be great. Well the day was originally planned to have a lunch date and shopping but when Grandie found that there was a girl in the singles ward that taught horseback riding she quickly changed the plan. Samantha gets to have 5 hours of riding time with Jessica. Her first lesson was on Wednesday. She even got to miss half of the school day. She spent the first half of the lesson on learning how to groom the horse and how to control the horse and the second half riding. She did extremely well, Jessica said that most kids don't even get to ride their first lesson. She said Sam was a natural (probably due to all her studies on the subject! Every library book know to man on horses!) After it was all done Sam got in the car with a huge smile and said " I smell like horse MMMMM" Only Sam would find the smell appealing!
