Photo Shoot

I went on my first semi-real photo shoot this weekend, I say semi-real because they were real clients but not mine, they were Lesli's clients. Lesli and I have taken classes from the same photography teacher and she invited Heather (who also takes classes from Wendy) and I to come along so we could practice. It was really fun, we headed down to Town Square and burned though a ton of memory cards! These are just a few of my favorites.

SPT

OK, so like forever ago I decided i wanted to join in to this SPT...Self Portrait Tuesday, that I have seen a lot of photographer mom's do. As a photographer and a mom, I never ever get out from behind the camera so I wan to at least once a month set the ol camera to self timer and shoot, so my kids will remember what I looked like when I was a young mom. If I can stick with this for the next 8 months, next January I will make a theme our of it...HMMM Fun! This is also to redeem myself from that hideous picture with my crocheted dress. And as far as the funny socks go, they are just me OK! I saw them at the store and they spoke to me!

1st Place, A Fair and a Crushing Blow

The Clark County Fair was this weekend and after talking to Shannon she said I needed to submit some things for photography to be judged at the fair, I also remebered that My Gram has put in her crocheted dresses into the washington county fair. So I decided to put in a dress and some photos. I won Best of class for my dress. Grammy is so proud!!

Dallin did Mutton Bustin and did so great. I think Lisa was too excited to get any pictures but luckily Terry had a good spot and got these great shots. It was so entertaining and he won $5!! I think the crowd cheered the most Dallins run because he had the most exciting sheep!!

Mark and Melanie Larsen Came down from Bountiful to stay during spring break. they stayed at our house on thursday and we all headed up to the fair together. Sam, Jono and Maddy got to do a pony ride

Sam wanted to Ride the Bull, it was pretty funny, they mae it go way to slow so Terry told the guy to speed it up so it would throw her. It was pretty funny.

And noe for the crushing blow. When Terry and I toolk the kids out to Nelson a few weeks ago, I was utterly frustrated by the end and Terry grabbed my camera to take some shots. I encouraged him to enter the picture he took along with mine. It was probably the best shot of the day between all the the ones he and I took. When we walked into the hall where the exhibits were right when you walk in there is the wall with all the winners. I had previously joked with terry that his 1 photo would probably win and i would get nonthing with my 6 other photos. Well I was right. He won 3rd place! I have always know he liked photography and has a talent for it but it is a bit of an ego blow when most of my time and energy that isn't going into my job as a mom goes to photography. I read books, take classes and am constanly trying to improve my craft. I am really proud of him though. Here he is with his white ribbon.

Let Zion In Her Beauty Rise

We just returned from beautiful Zion. For spring break we decided to take the toy hauler up to Utah to enjoy some of the natural splendor of Zion. Brandon and Jamie and all but Chase accompanied us on this little jaunt. We had a great time, hiking, exploring, bike riding, swimming and I even got in a little shopping! I took tons of pictures so bare with me through this post...

We went into St. George on Saturday to go to Cracker Barrel for breakfast...YUM! After that we drove out to Santa Clara to see the Jacob Hamlin House. That was really neat, but for some reason I don't have a picture of the whole house just some from inside. If your ever in the area, go take the tour it was so cool, and a piece of Our LDS history! I even learned where the saying "sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite" came from.
