Change

I see it coming, the change from little girl to young woman. She's leaning out and the roundness of her face is not as prominent. The little girl who could care less about wearing 2 different socks or bumpy ponytails has disappeared. Life is now filled with blowdryers and lipgloss. Gone are the days of Littlest Pet Shops. We now have be-bopping to Taylor Swift and talking on the phone. Hair must be curled and clothes must be fitted and not loose or baggy. I know I am in for it with this one but I have to say, I'm kinda likin the new, more grown up Sammy Jo!

4th

So the 4th of July up here in Oregon is pretty low key. It's not much different than every other day for that matter. We eat, laugh and just hang out. We did attempt to go see some fireworks but they were totally lame and the kids just complained the whole time so we skipped on them!! I didn't take very many pictures on the actual day, I don't know what it is but is seems that I never want to touch my camera during the regular events in life that you would think to capture. I guess I'm more of an everyday, little moments family photographer!!

I often go walking...

So here I am in MY happiest place on earth aside from the fact that I am separated from my true love. I have taken to going on morning walks for a bit of exercise to burn off the calories I consume on quick trips to the DQ or the pan of brownies sitting on the counter tempting me ALL DAY LONG!! After noticing all the amazing textures on one of my walks I decided to take my camera on my next walk. My quick 15-20 minute walk turned into over an hour. All photos taken less than a half mile away from my parents vacation home that becomes my summer getaway! Man I love it here!

Annie

My niece Devyn scored a part in the summer production of Annie at Spring Mountain Ranch so My sister in law Lisa and I, with Grandma took our girls to see the play. It was a really fun night under the stars.


It was really fun to see Devyn up on stage and a really great play all together.

It's been a good summer!

Last Day of School Ice Cream

It has been a tradition for a while now to do ice cream sundae's on the last day of school for a while now but since I have completely not adjusted to the whole thinking ahead necessity because there is no Target down the street I was lame and didn't buy supplies for our tradition so we packed up and went down the street to the Inside Scoop for lunch and ice cream. (whew, I think that was the longest run on sentence in the history of time!) Here's how it went....

Well he changed his tune pretty quickly when Shannon and the cousins showed up. We sat in the back room and ate our yummy food and chatted about the fun we were going to have this summer...not really the moms talked about all the work we were going to make our kids do this summer MUAHAHAHA! (insert evil laugh here) Maybe that is why Brett won't smile, he knows of the things to come!! MUHAHAHAHA!
